Job Description
Job Purpose:
To inspire and engage young learners in the world of music through dynamic, age-appropriate lessons. The Music Teacher will be responsible for delivering a well-rounded music curriculum that supports students’ musical, cognitive, and social development in line with EPG’s educational philosophy and British curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with the British curriculum and adapted to meet the needs of young learners aged 5–11.
- Introduce students to basic music theory, rhythm, instruments, singing, and movement.
- Encourage creativity through composition, improvisation, and performance activities.
- Organize and lead school musical performances, assemblies, and seasonal events.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enjoyment.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialist teachers (e.g., Art, PE) to support cross-curricular projects.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to reports and parent meetings as needed.
- Manage and care for music equipment and instruments responsibly.
- Participate in school events, staff meetings, CPD (continuous professional development), and training sessions.
