Job Description

The Exams Officer is responsible for the effective planning, administration, coordination, and conduct of all internal and external examinations within the Secondary School, particularly Cambridge IGCSE, AS, and A Level examinations. The role ensures compliance with examination board regulations and maintains the integrity, security, and smooth operation of all examination processes.

Key Responsibilities

Examination Administration

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of internal and external examinations.
  • Administer Cambridge IGCSE, AS, and A Level examination entries and registrations.
  • Ensure all examination procedures comply with awarding body regulations and school policies.
  • Prepare examination timetables and communicate schedules to students, staff, and parents.
  • Liaise with examination boards regarding entries, amendments, results, and certification.

Examination Operations

  • Organize examination venues, seating plans, and required materials.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise invigilators.
  • Ensure secure handling and storage of confidential examination materials.
  • Oversee the conduct of examinations in accordance with examination board requirements.
  • Manage special access arrangements and support for students with approved accommodations.

Results and Certification

  • Coordinate the release and distribution of examination results.
  • Process post-results services including re-marks, reviews, and appeals.
  • Maintain accurate examination records and student data.
  • Ensure certificates are distributed and archived appropriately.

Communication and Coordination

  • Work closely with school leadership, teachers, parents, and students regarding examination matters.
  • Provide guidance to students on examination regulations and procedures.
  • Support academic departments with examination-related requirements and deadlines.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of examination board regulations and updates.
  • Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity in all examination processes.
  • Prepare for and support any examination inspections or audits.
